About Resorts of Ontario

Established in 1942, Resorts of Ontario is a private not-for-profit association of over 100 member resorts, lodges cottages and country inns. All Resorts of Ontario member properties carry the assured insignia representing quality, service and dependability as all have been inspected by an accredited third party agency. Resorts of Ontario members offer a wealth of vacation experiences, from golf, romance and culinary holidays to family getaways and spa excursions. Properties are located throughout Ontario from the wine country of Niagara to the Muskoka Region, Haliburton, Algonquin and beyond. Each resort offers a unique experience that will create a lasting memory. Our members are very diverse in size, style, price range, facilities and services that are offered to the vacationing public. We have a separate division of preferred suppliers who serve the buying needs of our sector.

What We Do

Resorts of Ontario's mission is to serve, represent and further the collective interests by providing marketing, membership and advocacy services for the resorts, lodges and inns of Ontario's tourism industry.

Resort members benefit from strategic marketing programs and many co-operative buying ventures that reduce costs on volume purchases and provide an excellent dollar return on investments. Our marketing is directed to the leisure, corporate and travel trade markets.

We take our members into the domestic and international marketplace and have gained an enviable track record in creating new business as well as developing an image of the Ontario resort vacationing experience - Come on up to our place.

On behalf of, and with the participatory support of members we make the best possible purchases in print, trade show and electronic media directed to the consumer, meeting planner and travel trade. We also produce our own publications with over 1 million in print runs, establishing economically and demographically sound distribution into the marketplace. We invite major corporations to partner with us to take advantage of our direct and media planning initiatives.

Information, Travel Counseling and Customer Service

Our central office, headquartered in Orillia Ontario, serves vacationers, meeting planners and the travel trade with solid, up-to-date information via phone, fax and email. We do direct mailing of our Great Escapes Guide and handle all inquires for gift certificates. Open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm we are on hand to assist vacationers, travel trade, media and support our members in any way we can.

Advocacy

Resorts of Ontario is the voice of the resort industry. The association acts as an advocate of the resort community with levels of government in the interests of both the consumer and the resort industry regarding legislation and regulation.

Education/Networking

Resorts of Ontario organizes and produces workshops, an Annual Conference, special member events and the Preferred Supplier Trade Show. As well as meeting the constitutional needs of the organization, this provides great networking and educational opportunities for resort members and a venue for the Preferred Supplier Division to show their latest and greatest products and services to resort owners and managers.

Giving Back

Resorts of Ontario has been working closely with Camp Trillium as our charity of choice. The camp receives no government funding and only 6-8% of funds raised is reserved for administrative costs. The remaining money raised goes directly to the children. Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Center gives kids and families experiences that help bring everyone together.
